Welcome to St Christopher's. Here, we have a vision: a world in which all dying people, and those close to them, have access to the care and support they need, when and wherever they need it.

This vision shapes us, guiding everything we do, and have done since our founder, Dame Cicely Saunders, developed the modern hospice movement and we began to support patients and their families in 1967. We have a responsibility to make sure that wherever someone is in the world, and whatever their circumstances, good end of life care is available to them.

Today, we continue to play a key role in leading the way for palliative care in the UK and do all we can to make our vision a reality.

We hope you enjoy learning all about our history and getting to know the hospice and all the people that make it so special as you take this tour.

Thanks to the generous support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund St Christopher’s intends to tell the story of the Hospice by capturing oral history testimony from the variety of different people that helped shape the history and the life of the organisation.

These recordings will be made accessible to the public and culminate in a ground-breaking multimedia exhibition at St Christopher’s CARE which will celebrate these different stories and the history of the Hospice.

You can hear a number of different excerpts from these interviews in the history and tour sections of this App.
