The Pavilion Garden offers patients, families, staff and volunteers the perfect place to relax, but also to feel part of the city.

On the one side, you'll see a large pond (complete with a duck house) and lots of trees and plants and on the other side you can see and hear the trains go by regularly and people coming and going to the arts pavilion and the main hospice building.

The bringing together of all of these things was crucial to Dame Cicely in making sure dying people were not just hidden away, and no longer part of society; instead St Christopher's is a place for all and a hive of activity.

It is also where the ashes of Dame Cicely, and her husband Marian, are buried. You’ll find the stone commemorating them both near the entrance to the main building from the garden.
